July 18-19, 2008

Let's jump right into the four weddings from this past weekend...
{3 out of the 4 weddings had ring mishaps on the stage, that hardly ever happens, you better believe I'll be asking about the ring from now on}

Rebekah & Brandon's wedding was beautiful! Rebekah had a vision of how she wanted the wedding and she fully achieved it. She used a couple of our candelabras and then lined the center aisle with silk petals and pillar candles (electric, of course). The over all atmosphere of the wedding was so elegant. She even had her Unity Candle custom decorated. It was adorned with a beautiful beaded cross and jewels. She had an antique-style buffet table brought in for the sign-in table. The bridesmaids dresses were almost goddess-like. It was all so well thought out. Way to go Rebekah!

They choose to play a slideshow right before the ceremony started. The guests loved it and the wedding party was crowded around the back door watching before the processional.

Rachel Wheeless & Matt Vassaur
Sanctuary @ 11am

The Wheeless' and the Vassaur's are both members here at First Baptist, which I assume is where Rachel and Matt met. Rachel is the second in her family to get married this year (and not the last, her sister Hannah's wedding is in May 09, her brother James got married in May 08). Not only will there be 3 Wheeless weddings in a one year span, there will be 2 Vassaur weddings in a one year span too. Rachel and her sister Hannah are marrying brothers, Matt and John. Crazy, I know! Think of all the fun holidays these four will spend together.

I loved their ceremony so much! It was so personal and the music was specifically selected by the couple to represent their relationship (past, present and future). Matt was commissioned in the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant on May 9, 2008. Matt and Rachel will be stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado next year. They selected the following songs to represent their devotion to each other and to God as they begin their lives together (and sometimes apart):
-
"May It Be"
May it be an evening star,
Shines down upon you.
May it be as darkness falls,
Your heart will be true.
You walk a lonely road;
Oh, how far you are from home.
Darkness has come,
Believe and you will find your way.
Darkness has fallen,
A promise lives within you now.
May it be the shadow's call,
Will fly away.
may it be your journey on,
To light the day.
When night is overcome,
You may raise to find the sun.
-
"Time To Say Goodbye" {Con Te Partiro}
chorus:
Time to say goodbye.
Places that I've never seen or experienced with you.
Now I shall.
I'll sail with you upon ships across seas, seas that exist no more.
When you are far away I dream of the horizon and words fail me,
And I know that you are with me; you, my moon, you are with me.
My Sun, you are with me.

Tiffany is on staff at First Baptist in the Media Department. We have gotten to know each over the past year that she has been here. It was a true honor to see her wedding day come together so beautifully. Tiffany is from Rhode Island and something about Rhode Island is simply simple (but beautiful). Tiffany brought this vibe into her wedding plans. She knew what she wanted, but achieved it easily and perfectly. She choose lavender and chocolate as her wedding colors. One of her families life-long friends married them. And most of all Tiffany and Angel enjoyed every moment. I did not see her without a smile all day! They are going to have a reception in Rhode Island later this summer to celebrate with her family and friends up there.

Christi is also on staff here in the DLC (Developmental Learning Center). I've know Christi's family forever. Her mom is also on staff...so we've been talking/planning this wedding for a while. It was fun to see it come together. I loved the style of the wedding. The colors were ivory and green...a little Pottery Barn"ish", which I love! Christi's sisters and dad sang during the wedding...wonderful wonderful voices! The reception was held in The Atrium. Complete with a groom's cookie cake ... but wait, not like the cookie cake you order from Great American Cookie...this was an actually cake made of cookies (see the picture below). And the cookies were delicious. Panini Bakery did the cookie cake and bride's cake. Christi's mom set up a candy bar at the reception. {I love candy, and they had good candy...sour patch kids, sour gummy worms, Nerds, etc} As the reception went on Christi and Chris decide to fore go the typical departure to stay up stairs and hang out until all the guests left. It was a great day! Congratulations you two! Have fun in Waco!
