October 6, 2007

Liane Hwang and Jeff Whang were married in Heritage Chapel on Saturday. They had their reception in The Atrium too!

I didn't get to spend much (if any) time with the Liane and Jeff as a couple before the wedding weekend. I meet many times with Liane, but not Jeff. Seeing them together and watching their adorable slideshow this past weekend I got to see the real Liane and Jeff. They are so much fun together! They just truly absorbed everything that happened on their wedding day!

The ceremony was so beautiful! They had all the traditional ceremony elements, but they also had a "Honoring of Parents" time. Then Jeff's father spoke words of appreciation. It was so neat to see the parents play such an integral role in the ceremony.

FUN! That's the only word to describe the reception! The couple had assigned Marsha, a friend, to organize/coordinate the reception timeline. She was on top of things! There were 2 emcees that keep the guests informed, which was a tremendous help! After we cut the cake, the couple had prepared a slideshow. The slideshow contained pictures and a few video clips. The couple got engaged in Seattle and made the nightly news...so that clip was on the DVD. It was just a great look into their relationship. Then came the most exciting part of the evening - the "OH-HO" dance. This is something that has been a part of Liane's family for years. So a group of family/friends performed a dance for the couple. They loved it!
Before the night was over Marsha made Kathy and I taste Korean rice balls. The color and texture really threw me off, but they were actually okay! (Thanks for that experience Marsha!)
