Saturday was a joyful day! We had two wonderful weddings (all with such sweet, gracious families).
-
Joy Bachna & Wilson Aurbach
Joy and Wilson were married in Colonel C.C. Slaughter Chapel at 2pm on Saturday. It was a beautifully quaint ceremony. Though the audience was small, the ceremony and meaning were grand. They celebrated with a catered reception at the groom's parents house afterwards.

{I took this pictures through the stained-glass door during the ceremony... kind of cool!}

-
Jessica Agent & Bryson Gresham
Jessica and Bryson were married in Heritage Chapel at 6pm! I thoroughly enjoyed working with this couple and their families for the past year. There are just some families that make you feel like you are a part of their family to...and this is definitely one of those families!
-
The Father-of-the-Bride (FOB in wedding lingo) took an active role in this wedding. He created their photo slide show and even created a reception playlist on his iPod. He was enjoying it all!
The slide show played as guests entered the ceremony. The slide show ended at 5:50 (we raised the screen and set the lighting). The pianist played prelude music until 6pm when we started the ceremony.
{another option for including a slide show in your ceremony is having prelude music play as guests are seated, seat grandparents/parents, then play slide show...either way works well}
A special moment in the ceremony came after Jessica and Bryson lit the Unity candle, both sets of parents joined the couple on stage for a Parent's Blessing Prayer. Jessica's parents prayed for Bryson and Bryson's parents prayed for Jessica. I love that idea!
-
The ceremony was in The Atrium. There was lots of food; and the peach & raspberry teas were a hit!!!! It was a great reception. The couple set up a candy bar for guests to enjoy on their way out.

On Saturday, May 3 Liz Miller and Lance Griffin were married in the Sanctuary.

Liz planned a big ceremony surprise for Lance ... a bagpiper!! We made a necessary preparations to keep this from Lance at the rehearsal and up until the bridal processional on Saturday. As guests (and Lance) were anticipating Liz's entrance, the bagpiper began playing and walking down a side aisle. Once he made it all the way to the front, Jerry played a fanfare on the organ, then the doors were opened to reveal Liz and her dad. Her surprise was successful and Lance loved it!

Bagpiper: Texas Bagpiper (Jimmy Mitchell)

(Jimmy Mitchell did a fantastic job! If you ever need a bagpiper, give him a call!!! Check out his website http://www.texasbagpiper.com/ )

(Sanctuary flowers, bride specified "light pink" for the arrangements and they were beautiful!)

Can't decide on Ceremony Music???

Ok, I don't know where I've been for the last few years, but I just realized that you can listen to music clips on http://www.amazon.com/ . I know...it's crazy that I'm just now figuring this out! (I do know you can listen to samples on iTunes, but I don't have iTunes at work)
-
I was trying to find unique wedding songs for a friend of my husbands and I randomly followed a link to Amazon. I was so excited that I could listen to audio clips. Then I just got obsessed and spent hours listening and searching. BUT this is a great resource for you brides that just don't know what songs to play during your ceremony. If you want traditional wedding music, try The Knot's Collection of Ceremony & Wedding Music. You can listen to clips of all the songs on Amazon. I use the Knot's CD a lot! It has all the great basics! But the possibilities are endless!
-
{side note: In my search I came across an instrumental version of "Hallelujah" from the Shrek soundtrack. Really unique for a wedding processional...but I've seen lots of traditional in my day ;) so something non-traditional sounds great to me!}
-
Anyway...beware, it's addicting!

April 25, 2008

Shannon Haddick and Jeff Vance were married on Friday, April 25 in Heritage Chapel. (sorry I'm just now posting) Three precious little girls were part of the wedding party (Shannon's daughter and 2 nieces). The girls were so excited to be a part of the wedding; and asked a million wedding related questions all weekend. I was actually impressed by the questions they asked. They knew their wedding stuff! I wish ya'll the best Shannon & Jeff!
